Abstract: The diffusion of electronic books, as digital texts lacking in physical presence, urges the redefinition of gbooksh. However, books had already performed a substantial transformation even before the emergence of electronic books. From the perspective of comparative media theory, this paper discusses the transformation of books in the eras of the start of radio broadcasting in the 1920s as well as paperback revolution in the 1930s. This transformation is the genealogy of gshift of books to radio/magazinesh or gshift of books to advertising mediah. As the final stage of such gshift of books to mediah, the library project by Google has hit the scene. This paper points out the necessity of classifying the problems which gdigitalization of booksh has posed under communication situation in the Web 2.0 age, and finally associating electronic books with the literacy of existing books.

Abstract: Distribution of Japanese scholarly monographs in digital format is still in the very early stages, in comparison with the English publishing world. Several commercial digitalization services have started in recent years. In 2010, which was called gthe first e-book yearh in Japan, the publishing community held various discussions and the new technology was introduced. When it comes to monographs, however, we have not found an effective business model. What is the problem? How can we make digitalization a success? Many researchers and research librarians hope to use e-books, but. However the launch of scholarly e-books in Japan still lies in the future. The major barrier remains the distribution system for publications.

Specifically, this paper will discuss how public demands for Keitai Mangas became an important catalyst for the Japanese eBook market growth, along with the demise of once-heralded Keitai Novels.
@Adding to that, this paper will identify the differences to that equivalent of U.S., and in conclusion we will try to find what the shape of future publishing platforms might look like.

Abstract: This time, the online patent search system of the Department of Intellectual Property (Thailand) website will be introduced briefly. Since items are displayed in English in this site, the use is easy compared with the sites of sheer non-English-using countries. However, since Abstract and Claim are displayed in Thai language, their copying as well as machinery translation are impossible to utilize. Last Status, which shows very simple legal situation, can be copied fortunately, but the information on examination/appeal prosecution history, division of patent application, transfer of rights, etc. cannot be obtained from this site.
