I enrolled in the graduate school for working people four years ago. It was hardly to balance study with work, but I learned a lot about myself through this experience.
This paper introduces my experience and the courses in the graduate school, and also describes the significance of the graduate school for working people.

Abstract: In recent years, organizations related to libraries have been conducting research on training programs for librarians. This paper reviews the training and career development of librarians based mainly on the research conducted by the National Council of Public Libraries.
Libraries today are faced with drastic personnel reduction and outsourcing while the patrons' expectation for quality library services has risen each year. In such circumstances, strong training programs for librarians are needed more than ever before. Furthermore, librarians themselves must take a more active approach towards their own career development and use their initiative to select and participate in training programs.
