Abstract:At Toho University, the Media Center was established as an all-campus organization, and the fact that it represents a significant expansion beyond the framework of the conventional library has been publicized inside and outside the University. The introduction of electronic databases or electronic journals are aimed at the "construction of a non-visiting electronic library", and the institutional repository functions as "a media center as knowledge base." Reforming the organization for these purposes has also been undertaken. Fortunately, Media Center users and the university administration understand and support our plan, and progress continues. However, challenges remain, particularly those related to future budgets.
